Tracy Chapman

Beginning writing music at age 11, Tracy Chapman would become one of the most popular singer/songwriters of the late 80s’ and early 90s’. Born on March 30, 1964 in Clevland Ohio, she began understanding at an early age the hardships that many people face. The ”A Better Chance” program quickly discovered this young prospect and accepted her into the Wooster School (A highly acclaimed K-12 prepratory academy). The Shore

Beginning in Silver Lake California during the spring of 2001, The Shore is led by Ben Ashley.  Working with producer Rick Parker, Ashley worte a series of songs then comprised a band to join. The Shore is made up of: Kyle Mularky (bassist),  Cliff Magretta (Guitarist), John Wilmer (Drums) and of course frontman Ben Ashley. Together the newly formed band of The Shore recored a series of demos. The demos the band recorded fell in the hands of Maverik A&R Executive Scott Austin, and withen months recieved a record contract. Over a next three months the band recorded in the studios with producer Rick Parker and released their first album. “The Shore EP” was released on New Years day 2003. The EP was followed-up by a full length album “The Shore” in August 2004. An addition guitarist, Wayne Faler, was inducted into the band after his presence in the tour of “The Shore.” The band also had a song featured on the Long Way Round soundtrack. The Shore also released a digital only album on October 20, 2008. However the band plans on releasing the album on hard copy in the future but no plans are set yet.
