On September 1, 1963, the multi-talented Grant Lee Phillips was born in Stockton California. Phillips began playing guitar in his teens and when he turned 19 moved to Los Angeles. While in LA Phillips worked tarring roofs for some money to help him pay for college at UCLA. College didn’t work out for Phillips and he linked up with Jeffery Clark (a friend from Stockton). Together they created the band Shiva Burlesque.
Phillip’s new album, “Little Moon,” is nearing completion. The album is scheduled to be released in late september in the United States with other countries soon following. Phillips says that ” The final mixes, mastering and artwork are all that remains before it’s off to the plant and in your hands.” recording this album went by fairly short, with only five days of studio time! “Little Moon” was recorded in a much older style. The album was recorded with everyone from the band performing live. A style that as Phillips quotes, “is lost in modern day recording.”
