Red House Painters

The alternative rock group known today as the Red House Painters formed in 1989. Beginning in San Francisco California the band was led by singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek. Alongside Kozelek was the American Music Club. The Red House Painters are considered were considered the start of the slowcore movement in alternative rock. Althought the band was successfull, Kezelek used the group primarly as a vehicle to spread his music.
